Deborah O'Dowd
Deborah O’Dowd is originally from the eclectic University neighborhood of Tucson, Arizona. A third generation Tucson High School graduate, Deborah received her Bachelors degree in Extended English Education from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, and her Masters Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University, Tempe.
Having taught English for 17 years in public schools, Deborah has been writing for 12 years. Prior to Fashion Fighter, Deborah wrote Poetry Made Easy (published by Didax and found at www.worldteacherspress.com.) O’Dowd completed a fellowship in the Southern Arizona Writing Project (SAWP) at the University of Arizona, 2003, and was the 2006 winner of the Arizona English Teachers Association poetry contest with "What Are We Feeding These Kids?"
After moving to Phoenix in 2004, Deborah became engaged to Leonard Clark, an Iraq Veteran, Peace Activist and radio personality. Both Deborah and Leonard are inner city, public school teachers. Deborah is the mother of three boys and currently lives in Phoenix.
